Recategorise chart of accounts

FinBoard allows restructuring and renaming of your chart of accounts. This enables you to customise and generate different versions of your core financial statements

For example, while analysing P&L - you can remove certain categories that are either one-time, you can rename categories that are confusing to other stakeholders or you could combine certain categories for reporting purpose. All this would help you create different versions of P&L/ Balance Sheet/ Cashflow

This can be configured from the web application. Steps are mentioned below:

  1. Select the company (dropdown on top left)

  2. Go to the the Consolidation tab ​

  3. Define the new Chart of Accounts structure in the blank section

    1. Drag and drop the created accounts to reorder them

    2. Complete this for the Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
      ​

  4. You will see the QuickBooks Chart of Accounts on the left. Select these accounts and map them to the new structure
    ​
